At MriyDiy, students learn languages through real projects! That’s why MriyDiy School in Kyiv has implemented the PBL (Project-Based Learning) model, where knowledge becomes a practical experience.

For five weeks, students study English, and in the sixth week, they dive into a project where they use everything they have learned. For example, the topic “Historical Buildings” turns the classroom into an architects’ workshop! Some students build cardboard castles, adding details like true historians, while others create them in digital applications. They also present their work in English, naturally and effortlessly using new vocabulary.

The students also studied the topic “Food,” researching recipes, cooking at home, and filming the process, resulting in the “Magical Recipes” project.

While studying the topic “Weather,” they analyzed the climates of different countries and created travel guides for tourists. For instance, the group researching Spain discovered that the best time to travel is in spring and autumn, while those who chose Japan unveiled the charm of the cherry blossom season. PBL teaches students to think critically, research, and work in a team. Imagine, this is just the beginning! More exciting projects await us ahead!

MriyDiy School in Lviv offers unique English-language courses. We want to tell you about them:

  • ‎Drama Class for Grades 1–5. Do you want to feel the magic of theater, learn to improvise, and perform in front of an audience? It’s easy! Students develop their artistic abilities, work on pronunciation and intonation, which helps them feel more confident when communicating in a foreign language. For example, students celebrated the 25th anniversary of the book “The Gruffalo” by creating a real theatrical production with decorations, music, and even themed treats. It was truly magical and delicious! This year, we look forward to a repeat performance!
  • ‎Brain Busters for Grades 3–4. This is a true fitness for the brain! Children develop critical thinking, logic, and creativity by solving interactive tasks, puzzles, and math cases in English.
  • ‎Storytelling for Grade 5. The ability to tell stories is the key to effective communication! Students learn to create engaging plots, work on the structure of their narratives, and explore storytelling in art, advertising, and film.
  • ‎Students solve real-world problems, create inventions, and present their ideas in English. This is part of the STREAM course for Grade 6, which combines Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math in a format of creative research.
  • ‎Cooking Studies for 7th graders. English, German, French – everything can be learned through culinary arts! Students explore the gastronomic traditions of different countries, learn about the origins of various dishes, and try their hand at being chefs. For example, during the “European Christmas” the MriyDiy students collaboratively made gingerbread cookies, a cheese Christmas tree, and non-alcoholic mulled wine.
  • The American-Ukrainian project for Grades 6, 8, and 9 is a unique opportunity for live communication with American students! Students participate in discussions, explore cultural differences, learn to work in international teams, and improve their spoken English in real communicative situations.
  • ‎We know that high school students are eager to enter their preferred university and master their dream profession, so the special course “Career Time” for Grades 10 is designed just for that! We prepare for the future: researching universities, writing motivational letters, and planning careers.
